The Assistant Commercial Manager role is intended to be the pathway to the Commercial Sales Manager position. As the Manager in training, it is imperative that the candidate spend sufficient time at the ground level calling on customers, presenting quotes and show proficiency in all aspects of the sales process. The assistant manager role will be one of learning all that is necessary to move seamlessly into the Commercial Sales Managers role within 9 to 12 months.


The ideal candidate will be a highly successful industry-related individual that has experience at multiple levels of sales relating to the automotive and or commercial truck industry.


Candidate(s) must have a proven track record of success, expert deal closing abilities, an excellent industry reputation, and exceptional training and leadership skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Leadership & Development

  • Manage daily sales activities and support forecasting/budgeting.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate the sales staff.
  • Perform ride-alongs and coaching with salespeople.

Customer & Market Engagement

  • Call on customers and handle escalated issues.
  • Present quotes and ensure top-notch customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of market potential and competitive performance standards.

Operational & Analytical

  • Prepare reports and analyze performance data.
  • Ensure proper inventory display, merchandising, and maintenance.
  • Master dealership systems: CDK, GlobalConnect, VinSolutions, Homenet, VAuto, Isuzu, ICS, Power BI.
Requirements:

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Ability to receive and analyze data.
  • Perform ride alongs with Salespeople and potential buyers.
  • Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Climbing in and out of vehicles.
  • Occasional stooping and bending.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 45 lbs.
  • Normal range of hearing and vision.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required/preferred. High school diploma with equivalent sales experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with good standing MVR.
  • Successful track record of developing relationships and closing sales.
  • Direct industry experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.

  • Base Range: $120,000 - $140,000
