Job Title: Assistant General Manager Schedule: Monday–Friday | No Nights
Job Summary: We’re looking for an experienced and motivated  Assistant General Manager  to help lead daily operations and support overall business performance. This role requires strong leadership, financial oversight, and people management skills. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and capable of driving results through effective team coordination and problem-solving. A background in wholesale distribution or trades is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities: Actively engage with customers and team members on the sales floor to ensure a high standard of service and satisfaction Assist in developing and managing the annual operating budget, with a focus on sales and expense performance Monitor inventory to align with sales trends, ensuring stock levels are optimized Conduct weekly branch walkthroughs with staff to identify areas for improvement and set actionable goals Enforce company policies and safety procedures to protect employees and company assets Oversee preventative maintenance schedules and ensure facility safety and cleanliness Assign tasks, supervise staff, and evaluate job performance across departments Ensure accurate and timely order processing and invoicing Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of staff Create and manage employee schedules, ensuring proper coverage and customer service Address and resolve customer complaints, returns, and credits professionally Report workplace incidents, injuries, or illnesses to Human Resources promptly Lead regular facility inspections and participate in senior management reviews
Additional Responsibilities: Conduct quarterly inspections and annual performance reviews Maintain company vehicles in compliance with federal and state regulations Represent the company in local community initiatives and maintain positive community relations Be available for after-hours emergency calls as needed
What You Bring: 3+ years of experience in retail or sales management, including team leadership Working knowledge of wholesale distribution, supply chain operations, or trades (plumbing experience a plus) Strong communication skills—both written and verbal Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience with CSD software is a plus Mechanical aptitude and a hands-on mindset Forklift experience (certification preferred) Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and a customer-first approach Basic math, reading, and writing skills
