Our client is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager who will support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This role involves recruiting, training, and managing front-of-house staff including servers, bussers, food runners, and hosts, while maintaining high standards of service, safety, and compliance. The Assistant Manager will act as a role model, leading with effective communication and consistent training.
In this role you will assist in achieving sales goals by delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining a hospitable dining environment as well as manage recruitment, onboarding, training, mentoring, and coaching of front-of-house associates to uphold service standards.
The Assistant Restaurant Manager will ensure compliance with all health, safety, labor, and sanitation regulations at federal, state, and local levels as well as monitor food and beverage quality, ensuring consistency with the Chef’s specifications and guest satisfaction.
In this role you will handle guest interactions, resolve challenging situations professionally, and maintain a positive dining experience and oversee cash handling, daily reconciliation, and reporting procedures in accordance with company policies.
This role will require the Assistant Restaurant Manager to oversee scheduling, labor controls, payroll edits, and attendance to optimize staffing and operations, assist in closing procedures, including securing the property and setting alarms and report and document incidents involving guests or associates promptly.
This role will support front and back-of-house functions as needed, fostering teamwork and positive work environment.
Administrative Duties:
Prepare and analyze various operational and financial reports using software tools such as Excel, Aloha, ADP, and others. Process purchase orders, inventory requisitions, and maintain stock levels. Maintain communication with management, accounting, payroll, and HR through accurate reporting.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of hospitality management experience.
Strong knowledge of food, beverage, wine, spirits, and service etiquette. Proficient with POS systems (Toast, OpenTable) and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to lead and manage associates respectfully and effectively. Excellent guest service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions as needed. Must maintain a neat, professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards. Ability to obtain a food handlers’ card and alcoholic beverage certification as required.
