The Assistant Sales Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the sales team and ensuring the smooth operation of the dealership. This position involves assisting in managing daily operations, providing excellent customer service, and driving sales performance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess strong leadership qualities to motivate the team and enhance customer satisfaction.
Duties
• Assist the Sales Manager in overseeing daily store operations and staff management.
• Ensure effective shift management by scheduling staff and monitoring performance.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Utilize phone etiquette to communicate effectively with customers
• knowing current and past promotions and upcoming events.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and promote store promotions.
Skills
• Experience in a dealership environment is required
• Strong phone etiquette skills for effective communication with customers
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building relationships and enhancing customer loyalty.
• Motorcycle license preferred.
• Previous Harley dealership or powersports experience in closing deals. Four and six square training.
• Car dealership background welcomed
- Minimum 3-years auto or motorcycle sales experience required
- High School Diploma or equivalent degree or greater required
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve
- Knowledge and experience with sales of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and other products sold by the dealership, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn them
- Passion for the motorcycling lifestyle and riding community
- Must have ability to relate with broad customer base
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present oneself as well as the company in a professional manner
- Knowledge of applicable laws/policies/principles/etc
- Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, along with general email/internet
- Attention to detail
- Interpersonal skills and customer service skills required
- Approachable, likeable, and enthusiastic personality
- High energy level needed
- Be self-motivated, positive, driven and helpful
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Great customer service, excellent personal communication, and demonstrated closing skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, Holidays, and evenings
- Must be able to work effectively with all areas of the dealership to maximize both the buying experience of the customer and the profitability of the dealership
- Experience with CRM and/or computerized inventory systems, or the ability to quickly learn
- Valid driver’s license and motorcycle endorsement
- Requires the use of both hands
- Occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift 25lbs of material
- Requires standing and/or walking for extended periods of time
- Requires the ability to balance and push an 800+lb motorcycle
