Summary of Responsibilities
The Assistant Sales Operations Manager serves as a key bridge between strategic planning, sales, and operational execution, combining hands-on planning expertise with developing managerial responsibilities. This role focuses on macro-level production planning, inventory optimization, CRM system enhancement, and cross-functional coordination while building leadership skills in a manufacturing environment.
The position is responsible for satisfying customer needs by optimizing assets (Finished and Work in Process Goods) effectively through strategic planning, sales pipeline analysis, and team leadership. The Assistant Manager should demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, capable of presenting complex operational issues to senior leadership while developing staff. This role requires flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and the ability to balance detailed planning work with broader strategic initiatives.
Essential Functions

Strategic Planning & Analysis
Collaborates on business planning strategies, statistical demand forecasting, and capacity planning
Utilizes CRM pipeline data to develop comprehensive annual forecasting models
Establishes and monitors supply chain KPIs, including production efficiency, inventory turns, and fill rates
Analyzes demand using market intelligence and statistical forecasting methods
Production Planning & Inventory Management
Develops master production schedules based on sales demand, CRM analysis, and capacity constraints
Configures and executes MRP within ERP systems for accurate demand forecasting and supply/demand balancing
Monitors inventory levels for finished goods and work-in-process and adjusts according to business needs
Coordinates finished goods purchasing from international facilities
System Management & Team Leadership
Leads CRM, ERP, & related tool enhancement initiatives for customer service and planning groups to improve efficiency, service level, and supply chain
Analyzes sales pipeline data to identify trends and conversion patterns informing production decisions
Directly supervises Planner, providing guidance on planning activities and career development
Conducts performance reviews and mentors staff on planning concepts and systems enhancements to improve service level
Cross-Functional & International Coordination
Collaborates with customer service, quality, R&D, purchasing, and plant management to align production plans with requirements
Facilitates communication with international stakeholders across time zones
Oversees ERP systems maintenance, including MRP parameters and master data
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration (with Supply Chain, Operations, or Analytics concentration), or related degree .
Leadership & Communication: Growing leadership capabilities with strong written/verbal communication skills
Strategic & Analytical Skills: Balances operational details with business objectives; advanced problem-solving abilities
Technical Expertise: Advanced MRP/ERP systems knowledge and CRM platforms proficiency
International Business Acumen: Experience in global supply chain management and cross-cultural communication
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing business conditions across multiple time zones
Data Analytics & Business- Intelligence (Strongly ):
SQL Query Development: Proficient in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis from ERP, CRM, and operational databases
Microsoft Power Platform: Advanced skills in Power Query for data modeling and transformation, Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization
DAX : Working knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating calculated measures, columns, and advanced analytics within Power BI, Power Pivot
CRM Analytics: Experience with CRM reporting and analytics tools, sales pipeline analysis, and conversion rate optimization
Advanced Analytics & Optimization (Plus):
Programming Skills: Experience with Python, R, or VBA for automation, data analysis, and process optimization
Linear Optimization: Knowledge of operations research techniques, particularly linear programming applications such as cutting stock optimization, production scheduling, and resource allocation problems
Other Functions
