Essential Functions:
Book, plan, and execute a variety of events, with a strong focus on weddings and upscale social functions Identify, target, and develop catering accounts and market segments through proactive outreach and relationship building Respond to incoming inquiries and convert leads into successful bookings Create customized catering proposals and event experiences tailored to client needs Consistently upsell packages, enhancements, and food and beverage offerings to maximize revenue Understand the local market and competition, and develop strategies to sell effectively against them Utilize creative sales techniques and strong negotiation skills to close deals Handle complex events with high revenue potential and elevated client expectations Build strong community relationships to expand the catering client base Deliver attentive, hands-on service throughout the planning and execution phases to ensure client satisfaction Lead site tours and pre-event meetings with confidence and professionalism Manage all event logistics from initial inquiry through execution—menus, rentals, tastings, décor, audio/visual, billing, etc. Partner cross-functionally with culinary, service, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution Conduct post-event follow-ups to build lasting relationships and drive repeat business Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities: Minimum of 4 years of catering sales or event management experience, preferably in hospitality or fine dining Exceptional organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment Strong understanding of food and beverage offerings and ability to speak confidently with clients about options Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and driven to achieve results High level of attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to collaborate across teams Professional presence and leadership skills to inspire confidence from clients and colleagues Passion for service excellence and delivering memorable guest experiences DeRomo’s Gourmet Market and Restaurant is proudly managed by Columbus Hospitality Management, a company dedicated to service excellence and team development.
