Our Farmers Insurance agency in Newport is currently seeking a detail oriented, self-motivated individual, with effective time management, and a positive attitude to join our team. As a Bilingual Customer Service & Sales Representative, you will provide exceptional customer service to our current clients and new prospects, as well as work to support agency growth through new business generation. We are an established agency in Newport and we are looking for someone that is passionate about serving their community helping people protect what matters to them. This could be the start of long-term, fulfilling career in an extremely stable industry!

This is not a remote position and will be inside my agency. Candidates must have customer service and/or sales experience in professional office or in a retail setting and speak English/Spanish. Need to have the ability to work in a team environment, and an excellent professional telephone presence. Must be able to pass state insurance license exam in an established window of time and meet continuing education requirements (We will help you with this).

Responsibilities
  • Process customer policy change requests.
  • Handle all incoming calls from clients and potential customers.
  • Take and process premium payments from clients.
  • Thoroughly understand and follow all underwriting, rating and compliance requirements.
  • Prospecting and generating new business through leads & referral sources.
  • Maintain client relationships with follow up phone calls.
  • Call prospective customers by operating VOIP telephones, automatic dialing systems, and other internet technologies.
  • Schedule appointments for Agent to meet prospective customers.

Requirements
  • In-office work at our Newport location (not remote)
  • English/Spanish fluency (spoken & written)
  • At least 1 year of customer service and/or sales experience in a professional office or retail setting
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with multiple computer platforms (Windows, Google, etc.)
  • Strong team collaboration skills and a professional phone presence
  • Ability to obtain an Oregon Property & Casualty insurance license within a set timeframe (we provide guidance and support)
