The Sales Associate at Copeland's Rural Supply is the front-line of our store, responsible for cashier duties, providing top-notch customer service, and maintaining an orderly shopping environment. This role calls for a friendly, proactive individual who can handle transactions accurately and assist with product inquiries. You'll collaborate with fellow team members to ensure every customer feels valued and has a positive experience. Key Responsibilities Cashier & Customer Interaction: Efficiently operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process cash and card transactions, and maintain accurate records. Greet customers warmly upon entry and express appreciation when they leave. Clear customer checkout lines quickly and effectively, ensuring a smooth flow.
Customer Service & Sales Support:
Listen to customer needs, offer relevant solutions, and provide knowledgeable guidance on product selection and location. Respond promptly and courteously to phone calls, transferring or taking messages when needed. Stay up-to-date on store promotions, policies, and product details.
Store Maintenance & Merchandising:
Keep the checkout area and storefront clean, organized, and inviting at all times. Assist with restocking shelves, setting up displays, and arranging merchandise in an attractive manner. Monitor product levels and communicate with the management team when inventory runs low.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other Sales Associates and department leads to maintain a cohesive, supportive work environment. Communicate effectively to ensure seamless operations and a positive customer experience. Demonstrate flexibility in taking on additional tasks and helping out where needed.
Professional Representation:
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the values of Copeland's Rural Supply. Uphold store standards, rules, and regulations at all times. Qualifications Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to engage positively with customers and coworkers. Comfortable asking questions and offering solutions to meet customer needs.
Dependability & Work Ethic:
Reliable, punctual, and motivated to provide excellent service. Able to handle busy periods calmly and efficiently. High attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling cash.
Technical & Physical Requirements:
Basic familiarity with computers and point-of-sale systems (training will be provided). Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items (up to 30–40 lbs.) during shifts. Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
Education:
