About this Location: This position is located at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV . We are right in the middle of the action! Our hotel is perfectly situated next to the Las Vegas Convention Center and just three miles from Harry Reid International Airport. With the monorail just steps away and world-class entertainment, dining, and shopping minutes from our door, you’ll be working in the heart of all that Las Vegas has to offer. Why do we need you? Responsible for developing new and nurturing existing relationships with hotels, corporate clients and social accounts while consistently striving to maximize catering and banquet revenue and enhance client engagement through effective negotiations of services. Assist Director of Sales in maintaining the daily operations of the Catering Department. . What you will do: Acts as the central contact and maintains rapport with corporate and group contacts to produce catering functions – food & beverage sales, banquet catering/banquet sales, and suite sales. Drive revenue by selling catering packages and even space, upselling and maximizing profitability. Collaborate with Sales, Director of Food and Beverage, Banquet and operation teams to ensure seamless execution of services as outlined by the sales and catering office and confirmed with clients. Maintains communication and coordination with other hotel departments to ensure seamless execution of services as outlined by the sales and catering office and confirmed with clients. Maintains relationships with area community, local civic organizations and area companies to expand brand presences and generate catering opportunities. Assume responsibility for the successful set-up and execution of social and corporate meetings, meals, and special events. Prepares and presents catering forecasts and reports under the oversight of the Director of Sales. Participate in trade shows, community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and the achievement of sales and revenue goals. Facilitate site tours, prepare banquet event orders (BEOs), manage deposits/payments, and produce detailed function documentation. Maintains organized account files and system activity, prepares booking details, distributes event information to relevant departments, and records data for catering system tracking. Develops, implements, and supports catering, sales, and marketing strategies, including the creation of custom menus and relevant action plans. Performs and assist with clerical work of the department, including customer correspondence, function sheets, event schedules, reports, and special projects. Exhibit excellent time-management and prioritization. Interface daily with kitchen and banquet departments regarding specific client needs. Supports and adheres to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company. Skills and abilities you bring: Originate and carry out catering campaigns. Work well under pressure; sensitive to tight or short time requirements. Speak and write clearly and convincingly and have excellent telephone skills. Have working knowledge of room set-ups, including audio/visual equipment. Have working knowledge of menu pricing and customer menu design. Work with all kinds of people. Plan the work of others. Schedule & Hours This position is fulltime Monday – Friday. Will need to be flexible with schedule based on client’s needs for banquet/catering business.
