The North American Institutional Sales Team drives growth across the MSIM platform, particularly through institutional asset owners, by developing new relationships and enhancing existing ones. Our approach focuses on collaboration and delivering a best-in-class client experience.
Within this team, the Insurance Solutions group strategizes sales initiatives for insurance client relationships, evaluating balance sheets, operating results, and specific company needs to align MSIM strategies with insurers' objectives and risk preferences.
We are excited to welcome a skilled business development professional with extensive experience in crafting investment solutions for insurers, particularly in private market capabilities, to our team.
Responsibilities
Leverage your in-depth understanding of the insurance asset owner landscape to foster results through strong relationship management and engagement with key decision-makers.
Collaborate effectively with insurance solutions and consultant relations teams to enhance engagement with insurance clients.
Work across various business units, including capital markets, investment banking, and wealth management, to strengthen insurance client connectivity.
Contribute to the creation of innovative investment strategies, thought leadership, and participation in industry conferences.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a profound understanding of the insurance investor profile across Life, Health, P&C, and Reinsurer sectors, along with insights into ownership structures like mutuals, privately-held, and publicly-held entities, and their implications in regulatory and accounting frameworks.
15+ years of experience in insurance-focused business development.
Commercial acumen with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, demonstrating a collaborative spirit.
Proven track record of success in driving sales of private market strategies (private credit, private equity, and/or real assets) and engaging with North American insurance companies.
Ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills with effective organization and follow-through.
Results-oriented, proactive, and accountable.
Willingness to travel within the U.S.
FINRA Series 7 and 63 required; Series 3 may be necessary.
CFA/MBA preferred.

Wage Transparency
Base pay for this role ranges from $250,000 to $300,000 per year upon commencement, with total compensation potentially including commissions, bonuses, and other incentives as part of Morgan Stanley’s benefits programs.
