Overview About Westchester Hills Golf Club Located in Westchester County, White Plains, NY, Westchester Hills Golf Club is a family-friendly private club with a rich history dating to 1913. The club offers competitive golf tournaments, tennis, swimming, fitness, social events, dining, private functions, and more. The 18-hole championship golf course, redesigned in 2022 with a Donald Ross-inspired design, features tree-lined fairways and contoured greens. Recent renovations include greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and an irrigation system. The club also unveiled a brand new Golf Shop and Two Bay indoor Golf Performance Studio in 2024. The historic clubhouse was remodeled in 2012 in preparation for the centennial anniversary celebrated in 2013. Director of Membership Sales Job Description FLSA Status: Exempt · Department: Sales and Marketing · Reports to: General Manager General Purpose Develop and implement marketing and sales programs, projects and activities designed to increase the sale of memberships; retain existing membership beyond historical averages in accordance with the club’s goals, objectives, strategic plans, rules and bylaws. Represent the club in internal and external relationships and retain existing membership. Essential Duties Maintains the club’s membership database and roster using the CRM system; keeps current membership certificate register, resignations, transfers, and contact information. Processes prospective members’ applications and generates all appropriate membership administrative reports. Plans and implements strategies to meet club membership goals; processes all requests for and transfers of membership. Assists prospective members in fulfilling application requirements; conducts orientation for new members. Promotes club activities and events; develops and implements prospective member functions. Encourages active members and new members to provide referrals and assist with recruitment. Determines target markets and implements programs to yield new members; develops and manages a sustainable Member Retention Program. Co-chairs Membership Committee and related committees; conducts tours for prospective members. Follows up on telemarketing efforts, referrals, catering contracts, publications, and other leads. Produces membership kits for sales calls and direct mail activities; researches market demographics for promotions. Provides sales training for staff; tracks and analyzes performance of membership activities via CRM. Collaborates with management to coordinate social and golf activities; maintains club history files and waiting lists. Coordinates public relations efforts, newsletters, media events, and club brochures with the Communications Department. Attends management and staff meetings; provides trend analyses and improvement recommendations. Develops and manages departmental sales goals and takes corrective action to meet targets. Participates in professional development opportunities; reports new members to relevant departments for onboarding. Networks with local chambers, civic organizations, Realtors, and other community groups to market the club. Maintains minutes and notices for the membership committee and the member bulletin board; maintains waiting lists for club and golf memberships. Maintains confidentiality of member information; supports operations during club hours and events. Performs other duties as assigned by the General Manager. Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree; or 3-5 years of related experience. CRM, POS, and other standard software systems experience. Physical Demands Typical office environment; occasional standing and walking; frequent sitting; routine use of computer and office equipment. Environment/Noise Moderate noise level. Certificates/Licenses No certifications or licenses required. Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences Ability to read and speak English to perform duties and communicate with customers and co-workers. Exceptional organizational skills; accuracy and neatness; ability to multitask. Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong verbal and written communication skills.
