Pay and benefits Per the California pay transparency law, the base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 - $120,000. This position is also eligible for an incentive plan that is equal to or greater than the base annual salary, if goals are achieved. As a candidate for this position, your pay and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position. Responsibilities Oversees event sales cycle including client relations, new business development, contracting, invoicing and event reconciliation Manages and motivates a sales team to achieve ambitious targets and goals Analyzes sales performance of an existing team Remains current on event styles and trends Has a solid understanding of the local San Diego market, event types and event operations in unique venues Introduces new self-produced event ideas to bring to these venues, including concept, pro-formas, ticketing, and ancillary revenue streams Designs and manages complex events with multiple facets Builds and maintains a network of event professionals including local corporate, hospitality, and social clients Entertains clients at a variety of events Meets with prospective clients and vendors for site visits Prepares event proposals regularly and in a timely manner Negotiates and drafts event contracts for execution Translates contracted event information to the assigned event coordinator Collaborates on event information and photos for the special events website and social platforms Maintains sales materials, proposal templates and venue one-sheets Maintains organized event records, proposals and calendars Manages event budgets and paperwork Attends industry events on behalf of the department Works in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with professionalism and respect Represents the Club in a positive and professional manner Qualifications Previous leadership experience preferred Proficient computer skills including MS Office and CRM systems; ability to learn new software Strong written and verbal communication; collaborative and respectful teamwork Exceptional time management and organizational skills; ability to handle high volumes of detail work and deadlines Experience in managing and developing a sales team Ability to multi-task and think creatively Personable demeanor with professionalism, integrity and accountability Reliable attendance Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment Bachelor’s Degree or education equivalent, preferably in Sales, Hospitality/Tourism, Event Industry, Marketing or related field Minimum 10 years of experience in Event Sales and Hospitality Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, Padres home/road games and special events Must have a valid driver’s license Able to travel as needed Physical requirements: able to travel to and access various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods; able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds Successful completion of post-offer, pre-employment requirements including a background check and drug screen
