The Ideal Candidate
The District Sales Manager candidate should have 5 years' experience in either wholesale distribution, residential commercial design-build materials sales, or project a management role. They should possess a positive can-do attitude, strong sales, and people skills, with an aptitude for technical products & solutions, having the ability and willingness to use todays technology as a sales tool. They should be highly motivated and confident with a strong sense of urgency in managing this important and emerging territory. They must reside in in the territory in a logistical location to be able to service the entire territory
Job Responsibilities
Ultimately to establish new customer partners while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships to increase sales in the assigned territory.
Meet or exceed annual performance goals as assigned by the Regional Sales Manager (supervisor) with 80% of time in the field sales calls calling on wholesale distributors and contractors
Identify and develop relationships with key landscape and light commercial contractors
Manage time in the territory with professional organizational and planning skills
Use and keep the customer relationship management tool current with the latest required information.
Identify, manage, and bring to a close growth opportunities
Conduct product training classes and seminars with our distributors and their customers
Qualifications 4-year degree (or equivilant experience)
Minimum of three to five years sales experience
Ability to use Microsoft suite and CRM is a must
Valid driver's license as well as clean DMV record
Strong planning and organizational skills
Excellent communication, presentation, relationship, time management, prioritization, and business skills
Ability to recognize a problem or potential problem and react quickly and effectively
Must demonstrate good team and human relation skills, reliability and integrity
Ability to effectively present information in a group setting and respond to questions generated by the presented material
