The District Sales Manager will be responsible for DGI Supply sales objectives, initiatives and policy for their assigned sales district. They will oversee the health and effectiveness of their team of Account Managers in delivering profitable growth. They will rely on their extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in alignment with business objectives. As a people manager, the District Sales Manager will perform a variety of tasks leading and supporting the work of others. A wide degree of latitude is expected. The District Sales Manager will report to the Director of Sales.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:People Management & Team Development:Manages five (5) or more account managersExtract candidates for account managers from the marketplace via contacts, newspaper ads or networking. Always have a "bench."Conduct formal performance reviews with Account Managers on an annual basisWeekly/monthly updates on performance metrics should be provided as lead in to formalized annual reviewsOperate as a leader and constantly reinforce the goals and objectives of the company and the sales groupBe able to develop fundamental/functional plans as neededBuild the "best team" possible as quickly as possibleBusiness, Territory and Sales Management & Development:Manage the district business development and execution strategy for the company to reach assigned objectivesManage profitability of all accounts and vendors/linesIntroduce/propose new products, new lines and new strategies to grow businessEstablish clearly defined sales plans to support company's financial and sales goalsAccount Managers must clearly understand assigned objectives.Make regularly scheduled calls on key accounts, and familiarize yourself with other classes of trade, specifically medial, aerospace, etc.Bring forward ideas/concepts on how to accelerate sales activity in your area of responsibility and where you recognize other opportunities may existPrepare sales reports as needed/requestedMonitor and measure performance of sales as requested and perform analysis on such as requestedWork with budgets as far as tracking and monitoring spending. Budget analysis will be conducted as needed.Document calls and activities against accountsRelationship Building:Manage and build vendor relationships and become key operational contactWork with customers to build solid relationships and to build the businessVerbal and written communications with customers is key, as it is with internal contacts, to ensure exceptional effectiveness.Work in a team environment and build trusting relationships with all internal contactsContribute your knowledge and expertise to those around you to elevate their knowledge/performance. Be open, honest and direct with supervisor.Will work under moderate supervision guided by policies, procedures and individual job objectives and job descriptionSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:10 years of experience with strong sales management skills that are reflected in leadership, motivation, drive for results, welcomed accountability and organizational strategy.Industry experience and working knowledge of industrial applications and customers is preferred (not required).Excellent negotiating skill set and the ability to create a strong relationship upon which to build future sales is required.Must be able to sell to Headquarters/Senior Levels and must be able to build relationships with all vendors within management responsibility.Strong verbal and written communication skills are required; including ability to give presentations.Must have strong attention to detail and follow-up throughout the selling process.Excellent financial, forecasting and analytical skills required.Ability to translate corporate objectives and strategies into individualized selling plans for Account Managers.Strong technical proficiency required.Innovate and implement selling solutions as needed.Keep supervisor constantly informed.Time management, organization and prioritization are paramount to success in this position.Employment opportunity includes:Competitive benefits, including: medical, dental, vision, life, STD & LTD insurance options, FSA, 401(k) and Profit SharingCar allowance, cell phone and laptopCompetitive wagesCareer growthDGI Supply is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
