We are seeking a highly motivated Field Sales Representative to join our Illinois-based team, focused on enrolling low-to-moderate income (LMI) households into Illinois Shinesapproved community solar projects. As a front-line representative, you will go door-to-door in Illinois communities to connect residents to clean energy savings, while playing a direct role in advancing the states renewable energy goals.

This role reports to a Field Sales Team Lead and will work closely with our Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct door-to-door outreach in assigned neighborhoods to educate residents about community solar.
  • Guide customers through the enrollment process, ensuring all forms and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Represent Common Energy with professionalism and build trust in local communities.
  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly enrollment targets (kWh/kW goals).
  • Provide feedback from the field on customer needs, concerns, and opportunities.
  • Maintain compliance with Illinois Shines program rules and consumer protection requirements.
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions to improve sales skills and stay updated on program details.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of door-to-door or face-to-face sales experience preferred (retail, solar, telecom, home services, etc.).
  • ***Must live within in Northern Illinois***
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage with diverse communities.
  • Motivated by goals, with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales quotas.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors and traveling within assigned Chicago-area neighborhoods.
  • Passion for clean energy, sustainability, or community-focused work.

Spanish or other language proficiency is a strong plus.
