We are seeking a guest-focused and operations-savvy General Manager to lead all aspects of Snowshoe Thompsons, a high-
volume, family-friendly cafeteria located at Kirkwood’s Timber Creek base area. Open daily during the winter season, Snowshoe
Thompsons serves breakfast, lunch, and beverages to skiers and snowboarders—especially beginners and families attending ski
school. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with experience in both FOH and BOH operations, team development, and
fast-paced service environments.
Situated adjacent to beginner terrain and ski school at Timber Creek, Snowshoe Thompsons is a go-to stop for guests looking to
warm up, fuel up, and get back on the hill. Featuring cafeteria-style service, hot food stations, grab-and-go items, and a full bar,
it’s one of the most visited dining options on the mountain during the winter season.

Expected Pay Range: Starting at $68,640 annually

Schedule: Primarily mornings and afternoons; weekends, holidays, and storm days required
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
• Oversee all FOH and BOH operations during breakfast and lunch service
• Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming atmosphere for families, ski school participants, and day guests
• Maintain efficient flow through food lines, cashier stations, and seating areas
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, alcohol service, and resort cleanliness standards
• Monitor guest satisfaction and proactively address any issues
Team Leadership & Development
• Recruit, train, schedule, and manage a seasonal team across culinary and front-of-house roles
• Lead daily pre-shift meetings and promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and service excellence
• Conduct real-time coaching and seasonal performance evaluations
• Support a positive, family-conscious service environment for a wide range of guests
Financial & Inventory Management
• Track daily sales, labor, and food cost targets in alignment with resort goals
• Oversee ordering, inventory, and waste reduction for food, beverages, and supplies
• Collaborate with resort culinary leadership on menu updates and food presentation standards
• Monitor POS systems, bar operations, and grab-and-go offerings for accuracy and consistency
Cross-Department Coordination
• Work closely with Ski & Ride School, Events, and Mountain Dining teams for peak day planning
• Adapt service models for holidays, weather-related surges, or special resort programs
• Ensure team alignment with broader resort initiatives and guest service expectations
• 3–5 years of food & beverage or quick-service management experience
• Experience leading large, seasonal teams in high-volume environments
• Strong multitasking and communication skills with attention to guest flow, quality of food, and staff management
• High understanding of when to be agile with your business
• Familiarity with POS systems, kitchen operations, and labor management tools
• Serve Safe Manager, TIPs, and RBS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Availability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and storm days
• Ability to lift 50lbs and remain on your feet for extended shifts

The expected pay range is $68,640 - $77,951. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
