Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all store operations. Using elements of GameStop's buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model, the Assistant develops and promotes a sales culture by creating individualized solutions for every guest and providing outstanding guest service. Responsibilities include ensuring products are visible and accessible, building sales through product and gaming knowledge, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and growing guest loyalty. The role supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions, assist with gaming needs, inform about promotions, recommend items, and thank guests for shopping. Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, sales initiatives, and guest relationships. Process transactions accurately using POS system, ensuring excellent guest service. Respond to guest comments/questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues when necessary. Promote GameStops guest benefits, e.g., reservations, trade-in, and loyalty programs. Assist with setting and training on guest service expectations for store associates. Monitor and provide feedback on associate performance; ensure onboarding and training are completed. Schedule staff, ensuring optimal coverage and adherence to guidelines. Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify payments. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and proper functioning of fixtures and equipment. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention. Support sales and profit goals, and complete administrative duties. Manage inventory counts, restocking, and product organization. Reconcile daily transactions and ensure accurate bank deposits. Inspect shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories. Maintain safety standards and address hazards promptly. Organize store records and manuals. Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including opening and closing routines. Qualifications Proof of identity and legal work eligibility in the US. Minimum age 18. High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business, marketing, or related preferred. Retail management experience preferred. Retail sales/guest service experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities Outgoing personality with strong people skills. Genuine assistance to guests. Effective communication skills; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Independent and team work skills. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Constructive pressure management and problem-solving skills.
