ROLE TITLE: Multi-Channel Sales Associate POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Retail Operations
Summary of Position
This position is a key member of the Retail Operations in the day-to-day operations of the Merriman Campus Store, providing support for both physical retail kiosks and online sales platforms. This position is part of the cross-functional Retail Operations team, which includes the campus store, printing services, and the post office. The associate will be responsible for managing retail transactions, fulfilling online orders, providing outstanding customer service, and assisting with inventory management. Additionally, the role involves scheduling and coordinating campus kiosk events and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth store operations. This fast-paced position requires adaptability, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while interacting with a diverse customer base, including students, faculty, staff, and community members. Weekend and evening shifts will be required, especially during campus events. Cross-training will be provided to ensure a well-rounded understanding of all functions within the team.
As the Multi-Channel Sales Associate, you will: Retail Support – Contribute to the day-to-day operations of retail kiosks across campus by performing a variety of essential tasks that ensure efficient and effective service. This includes accurately completing retail transactions using the college’s point-of-sale (POS) system and ensuring strict compliance with the college’s cash handling policies and procedures. Interact with walk-up customers in a professional, knowledgeable, and courteous manner, providing personalized assistance with product selection, answering inquiries, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting kiosk environment to promote a positive shopping experience for all visitors. Responsibilities also include restocking merchandise when necessary, ensuring that the kiosk is fully stocked with required supplies and POS equipment, and displaying products in an attractive, visually appealing manner to encourage sales. Regularly monitor and adjust displays to align with sales goals and seasonal promotions while maintaining inventory accuracy.
E-Commerce Operations –  Manage and process all online orders from the Allegheny Campus Store in an efficient and timely manner. Responsibilities include picking, packing, and shipping products with accuracy, ensuring all items are correctly matched to orders, and ensuring that packaging is secure for safe delivery. The associate will be responsible for ensuring that all orders are fulfilled within the designated timeframes and meet the quality standards of the store. Additionally, the role requires communication with customers regarding order status, delays, or issues, as well as ensuring that returns and exchanges are handled effectively when necessary.
Customer Service – Provide exceptional service to a diverse range of customers, including students, faculty, staff, and community members, by offering tailored assistance with product selection, answering queries about merchandise, and addressing concerns or complaints in a professional manner. This involves maintaining a customer-first mindset, actively listening to customer needs, and providing clear, accurate, and friendly guidance on products, store policies, and order details. The associate is expected to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages repeat business and positive feedback.
Cross-Department Collaboration – Work collaboratively with various departments throughout campus and within the Retail Operations team, including the campus store, printing services, and post office. This includes stepping in to assist with tasks outside the scope of typical duties when necessary to support the smooth and efficient functioning of these areas. For example, helping with the distribution of course packs, assisting with post office operations during peak times, and coordinating efforts during special events. Additionally, the associate will schedule and coordinate kiosk events by collaborating with college and community members to create an event schedule and recruiting, training, and scheduling sales staff to support these events. Cross-training will be provided to ensure a comprehensive understanding of all operational functions. The associate must exhibit flexibility and teamwork while managing multiple tasks across departments.
Store and e-commerce inventory management – Assist with the ongoing management of inventory for both in-store and online merchandise. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels to ensure products are adequately stocked and available for both retail and e-commerce sales. This includes organizing, restocking, and conducting regular audits of inventory, as well as tracking discrepancies and identifying potential issues with stock levels. The associate will work closely with the retail team to reorder merchandise as needed, assist with seasonal inventory planning, and ensure the accuracy of product listings in the online store. Regular communication with suppliers and the Retail Operations team will be essential to maintain accurate inventory records and avoid disruptions in product availability. —
Experience and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required

YOUR COMPENSATION
New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
The expected hourly starting range for this position is $15.80 per hour.
