The Opportunity We are looking for an action oriented; strategic team builder to lead our sales activity and ensure our national team meets or exceeds its annual sales and margin targets. This position is based out of our Venice, California offices and requires travel to New York, Seattle and other cities around the United States as needed. The National Sales Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Sales Team as well as maximizing sales and profitability of their own book of business to meet their individual target. Areas of Responsibilities Include: Team Management Lead the team to achieve annual sales & profitability targets, working with the President, Dir. of Client Services and Dir. of Operations Strategize and brainstorm with Account Directors and other team members Accompany Account Directors on key meetings as necessary Track YTD Sales & profitability against company goals Manage day-to-day activities of the Sales Team Monitor & coach each Account Director taking corrective action to encourage growth Work with Marketing team and Account Directors to ensure effective new business development including growth of existing client business Ensure Client payments are made within agreed terms, assist in dispute resolution Assist Dir. of Client Services in hiring/firing of Sales Team members as necessary Work with Marketing Manager to plan effective Sales & Marketing meetings Organize training sessions, off sites, outings, team lunches, etc. to motivate and inspire the Sales Team Help Account Directors resolve conflict with other team members, working with Dir. of Client Services & Dir. of Operations where necessary Work with Dir. of Client Services & US Marketing Manager to identify sales approaches, associations, etc. that MaCher should focus on in order to grow the business Handle additional special projects assigned by Dir. of Client Services, as needed Meet minimum $1million sales target per fiscal year Meet profitability target Understanding of current trends in the fashion, health & beauty, travel and food & beverage industries Research and understanding of our clients brands, promotional marketing strategies and target end consumer demographics Proper qualification of Client briefs to ensure key objectives as they relate to strategy, branding, design, cost and delivery are met Independent brainstorming and team collaboration on product solutions and packaging Act as public face of MaCher at industry events as appropriate Our perfect candidate is someone Who has the ability to lead by example Who can bring the best out of others Who can juggle competing priorities while giving adequate attention to their direct reports Who is passionate about the sales process and enjoys helping others grow and succeed Required Skills & Experience: Minimum of 10 years sales experience with at least 5 years experience sales management experience High customer service and relationship building skills Strong prospecting and cold calling skills and experience Ability to build an account base from scratch, without using purchased lists Strong troubleshooting experience relating to manufacturing challenges Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) Ability to create and use formula based spreadsheets in Excel Experience using and managing a CRM Flexibility in terms of handling a variety of assignments under tight deadlines Excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Effective presentation and public speaking skills Familiarity with manufacturing of bags, boxes and injection molded items as well as various printing processes is a plus This is a full-time salaried position with benefit Keep Up With Our Content.
