Head of Energy – US Market (National Sales Executive, Alternative Energy Software)
$150K - $170K Base ($300K OTE) Ideally East Coast, Chicago, or Texas (near major travel hub; travel required)
Reports To: CRO
This is a strategic sales leadership role focused on driving growth in the U.S. renewable energy sector. The Head of Energy will build and lead the company’s U.S. energy vertical, defining the go-to-market strategy, cultivating enterprise partnerships, and expanding market share in the alternative energy space. The role combines enterprise sales execution with vertical strategy development and requires both operational and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the U.S. energy vertical strategy and execution, aligning with global growth initiatives.
Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, solutioning, deal structuring, closing, and long-term account growth.
Drive go-to-market planning including customer segmentation, partnerships, and sales execution.
Act as the voice of the customer: translate renewable energy industry needs into product insights and recommendations.
Conduct product demos, including drone-based field demonstrations.
Lead RFX and proposal processes, collaborating across technical and operations teams.
Support business development, structuring offerings that create long-term enterprise value.
Represent the company at conferences, industry events, and thought leadership forums.
Provide executive leadership with updates on performance, opportunities, and risks.
Candidate Profile:
5+ years’ experience in business leadership, enterprise sales, or strategic partnerships in the renewable/alternative energy industry.
Proven track record selling to utilities, renewable energy companies, or infrastructure providers.
Strong background in software or technology sales into the energy sector.
Entrepreneurial and results-driven; ability to build, launch, and scale a vertical.
Strong communicator with experience influencing across sales, product, and executive leadership.
Degree in engineering or business preferred.
