Event Support Technician
Location: Washington, DC
Schedule: Part Time: Nights (2nd shift), weekends, and holidays required
Pay : $40-$50hr
Overview
We’re seeking an Event Support Technician to provide real-time technical assistance during live events in a fast-paced arena environment. This role ensures the reliability of computer systems, network infrastructure, and broadcast/A/V equipment essential for live television production, sporting events, and concerts. You’ll also support internal technology operations, including Tier 1 troubleshooting, endpoint management, and video conferencing setup.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver on-site technical support during live events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Maintain the technical integrity of computer systems, network devices, and broadcast/arena A/V systems.
Test, maintain, and fabricate cables, adapters, and small part modifications.
Set up and support Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx conference calls, ensuring seamless operation.
Manage and image endpoints using Microsoft Intune, Auto Pilot, and JAMF Pro, ensuring devices are updated and secure.
Provide Tier 1 technical support for staff, resolving hardware/software issues quickly.
Log issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in a ticketing system.
Create and update Standard Operating Procedures for IT operations and training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1–2 years in a technical role (Service Desk Technician, Desktop Support Engineer, etc.).
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
CompTIA A+ certification required.
Working knowledge of computer software/hardware, Windows/Mac OS, mobile devices, and networking equipment.
Understanding of broadcast signal flow in a television production environment (video routers, switchers, cameras, RF infrastructure).
Proficiency with office automation products and peripherals (printers, scanners).
Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to carry up to 50 lbs and work in small spaces.
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal).
Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Able to resolve technical issues remotely and provide clear guidance.
Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
