Job Summary This is an outside sales position responsible for promoting products and services, building relationships with customers, and driving business growth. The primary focus is to help customers succeed while achieving established sales and profit goals. Responsibilities Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth and special objectives within assigned territory. Identify and qualify potential prospects based on company account stratification goals. Analyze customer business needs and develop tailored solutions to meet those needs. Evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers based on their business goals and objectives. Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' offerings; share this information with customers as part of value-added services. Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel. Use a personal vehicle to visit customer accounts, attend conventions, and participate in company meetings. Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary, working with the credit department and clients; ensure timely collection of all balances due according to approved credit terms. Manage deliveries according to the routing schedule published by the transportation department; troubleshoot any problems that arise during the order process (e.g., out-of-stock items, special orders, low inventory, etc.). Participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and customer events. Attend and contribute to general sales and district meetings. Pursue ongoing training sessions to stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices. Assist with the training of new employees as requested. Review and analyze daily and weekly reports, such as special-order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data. Perform administrative tasks, like preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits and pick-up requests, preparing sales quotes and menu suggestions, and filing reports. Additional duties may be assigned. Requirements Required Education/Experience A Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field OR a High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of Restaurant Management, B2B, or outside sales experience, or equivalent relevant experience, including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship. Preferred Qualifications Bilingualism is preferred. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations A valid driver's license with a clean driving record (including no multiple DUIs within the last 2 years). A current automobile insurance policy with liability limits of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident, and property damage coverage of $100,000. Requirements Undergo pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check). Sign the Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement. Reside or be willing to relocate to the geographical area of the assigned territory. Professional Skills Familiarity with basic PC operations and proficiency in MS Office.
