As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for driving sales and expanding business within an assigned territory that includes Southern California, Nevada, and parts of Utah. You will manage relationships with various accounts including gas stations, convenience stores, retail outlets, and casinos, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and driving revenue growth. This role involves regular travel (up to 50-60%) and overnight stays (8-10 nights per month), so strong time management and self-motivation are essential.
The ideal candidate will be a reliable and proactive self-starter with excellent communication skills and a track record of success in outside sales.
Key Responsibilities: Sales & Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers within the territory. Manage a diverse range of accounts, from small gas stations and convenience stores to large casinos and retail chains. Territory Growth: Identify and target new business opportunities while ensuring existing accounts receive the attention and support they need to thrive. Achieve sales targets and continuously drive growth within your region. Product Promotion & Education: Educate customers on the full range of tobacco products, promotions, and industry trends, ensuring they are informed about the latest offerings and can make the best choices for their business. Customer Service Excellence: Provide top-tier service to your accounts, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Work to establish long-term partnerships based on trust and customer satisfaction. Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and market conditions. Report on performance and forecast sales regularly to management. Travel & Scheduling: Manage a structured travel schedule, balancing customer visits and territory coverage. Plan routes effectively to maximize time spent with customers while minimizing downtime.
Key Qualifications:
Sales Experience: 2+ years in outside sales, preferably in the tobacco, consumer goods, or related industries. Experience managing a territory or portfolio of accounts is highly preferred. Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to effectively engage with customers and build lasting relationships, ranging from small mom-and-pop stores to large casino operations. Independent & Self-Motivated: Ability to manage your own schedule and work autonomously. You are highly organized and can prioritize tasks to ensure that all accounts are serviced efficiently and effectively. Problem Solver: Strong ability to handle objections, solve problems, and provide creative solutions to customer challenges. Travel Ready: Ability to travel up to 50-60% of the time, including 8-10 overnight stays per month. A reliable vehicle and willingness to travel are essential.
