We are growing and seeking a highly motivated Outside Sales Representative to help us expand our reach, support our customers, and drive new business opportunities.
Position Summary
As an Outside Sales Representative, you will play a key role in identifying new business, supporting contractors and specifiers, and promoting Tnemec’s industry-leading coatings in a technical, hands-on sales environment. You’ll spend the majority of your time in the
field—building relationships, solving problems, and helping projects succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Call on painting contractors, general contractors, architects, engineers, and facility owners
Support and grow existing accounts through job-site visits, technical assistance, and product recommendations
Generate new business by identifying prospects and conducting proactive outreach
Conduct hands-on field support including job start-ups, troubleshooting, and site visits
Lead training sessions and product demonstrations for contractor crews and specifier offices
Track sales activity, report on opportunities, and manage the territory with independence
Qualifications
5+ years experience in coatings, construction, engineering, or related technical sales preferred
Experience in high-performance coatings, estimating, or project management is a strong plus
Ability to travel frequently within your territory
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Technically curious and mechanically inclined; you enjoy problem-solving in the field
Self-starter with a entrepreneurial growth mindset and a willingness to get hands-on
Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited oversight
Familiarity with using a CRM to communicate with the sales team and track projects and customer communication
