Savannah Technical College is seeking adjunct faculty for the Practical Nursing program on the Savannah and Liberty Campuses. The adjunct faculty member will provide theory and practical instruction to a level sufficient for students to develop the skills necessary to become employed in the healthcare profession. The position also requires the supervision of students during patient care. Responsibilities: Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for practical nursing occupational courses;
Instructing students, developing program syllabi, goals, and objectives;
Develop, manage, and teach classes, delivering instruction both individually and as a member of a team;
Develop and coordinate curriculum; conduct assessments of all courses taught in the department as requested;
Complete reports and requests for information from internal and external departments and agencies;
Ensure compliance with Georgia Board of Nursing standards, rules regulations, and expectations;
Collaborate with colleagues on common curriculum areas;
Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences;
Follow policies/procedures of Savannah Technical College, to include standards for student-faculty professional relationships/interaction;
Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with college employees, students, community partners, and visitors.
Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Registered Nurse with a current active Georgia Nursing License in good standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing. License cannot have the following status codes: probation, suspended, expired, lapsed, inactive, pending, renewal pending, revoked, or surrendered
Bachelor's degree in nursing
Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience
Must be flexible to teach day or evening classes and 12-hour clinical rotations on weekdays and/or nights or weekends
Possess current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
Possess valid driver’s license and proof of insurability.
Possess basic computer skills including Word, excel, PowerPoint, and email. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching adults and/or supervising nursing students in a clinical setting.
Three (3) years of nursing experience Salary/Benefits Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.
