As a Sales Associate, you will play a vital role in helping customers find exactly what they need and ensuring they leave with a smile. You will assist customers by understanding their needs, providing expert product recommendations, and handling transactions seamlessly. Each interaction with our customers is an opportunity to exceed their expectations. Key Responsibilities: Warmly greet and welcome customers upon their arrival. Engage with customers to identify their needs using open-ended questions and active listening. Offer your expertise on products and suggest complementary items to enhance the customer's boating adventures. Guide customers in product selection and ensure they find the right items. Inform customers about our range of services and help with special orders or drop-ship purchases. Accurately handle cash, credit, and account transactions, including processing returns and managing the register. Ensure accurate pricing by auditing and tagging merchandise, and maintaining proper displays and signage. Assist in inventory management, including receiving and restocking merchandise. Keep the store organized, clean, and clutter-free, removing any hazards for a safe shopping environment. Support the buy online pick up in store (BOPIS) process and assist with online ship-from-store tasking when required. Notify management of any security or loss prevention concerns, helping uphold asset protection standards. Complete all required training and familiarize yourself with the standard operating procedures. Be prepared to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Perform additional tasks as needed to support the team. Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Active listening abilities to respond effectively to customer needs. A track record of success in sales and customer service. Knowledge of boating merchandise preferred. Experience with point-of-sale systems and the ability to adapt to new technologies swiftly. Strong attention to detail and adept time management skills. Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in boating and/or retail is a plus. Physical Requirements: Standing and walking continuously throughout the retail space. Ability to communicate effectively using a headset. Frequent climbing, bending, stooping, and twisting. Occasional operation of equipment like forklifts. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height without assistance frequently.
