Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant- Bone Marrow Transplant
This APP position will have responsibility for the Bone Marrow Transplant patient population. The successful provider will have alternating responsibility for management of inpatient and outpatient pediatric BMT patients. Inpatient duties include: rounding with the inpatient BMT attending to address daily care and make daily patient management decisions, daily EHR documentation, order entry, communication with consultants, answering questions from bedside RNâ€s and pharmacy, coordinating patient discharge, and dictation of discharge summaries. In addition, the APP will assist with education to the RNâ€s on the care area floors related to daily care of the BMT patient, as well as participate in annual RN education updates. Outpatient duties would include independent management of patients in the clinic setting, placing orders, managing outpatient prescriptions and home care orders, educating patients and their families on active issues and therapeutic changes, interacting with appropriate consultants, and scheduling appropriate follow up for patients. The position will include weekend and holiday coverage rotated among 6 APPâ€s. Participation in focused quality or research projects, in conjunction with the BMT attending team, is encouraged. Prior BMT experience preferred although not required.

Certifications
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or obtained by start date.
Current State of Arizona certification as a Nurse Practitioner OR Current State of Arizona certification as a Physician Assistant or obtained by start date.
National board certification to match area of education OR maintain certificate in National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Education
Masterâ€s or Doctorate degree from an Accreditation Commission for Nursing (ACEN) and/or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited graduate school of nursing in Pediatric Acute care, Pediatric primary care or Family Medicine OR Masterâ€s degree from nationally accredited ARC-PA program.
