Power Generation Sales Representative – Residential & Commercial Generators

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Power Generation Sales Representative to sell residential and light commercial standby generators . This role involves working with homeowners, contractors, small business owners, and property managers to offer tailored backup power solutions. You will manage the full sales cycle—from lead generation and consultations to quoting, closing, and post-sale coordination.
This is a high-impact opportunity for someone with experience in generator sales, electrical contracting, or residential/commercial equipment sales looking to thrive in a growing and essential industry. Key Responsibilities: Proactively generate leads and respond to inbound inquiries for residential and commercial standby generators (typically under 150kW).
Conduct on-site consultations with customers to assess power needs and recommend appropriate generator systems.
Prepare and present detailed quotes, proposals, and financing options when applicable.
Manage the sales process from first contact to close, including follow-up communication and coordination with install teams.
Work with operations and service departments to ensure smooth project handoff and customer satisfaction.
Stay current on local and national codes related to generator installation and compliance.
Maintain knowledge of available products from leading brands (e.g., Generac, Cummins, Kohler ), including features, warranties, and service plans.
Represent the company at home shows, community events, and industry expos to promote generator solutions.
Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and maintain detailed activity records in CRM systems.
Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in sales—preferably in generator sales, electrical/contractor services, HVAC, or related home/commercial equipment .
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to educate customers on technical topics.
Self-driven with the ability to manage your own pipeline and schedule.
Basic understanding of electrical systems and power requirements .
Proficient in preparing quotes, reading blueprints/site plans, and working with estimating tools.
Tech-savvy—comfortable using CRM software and mobile apps.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to conduct site visits (mileage reimbursed or company vehicle provided depending on structure).
