Position Summary
Regional Sales Managers for African Travel, Inc. (ATI) are responsible for maximizing the sales potential within their designated territory by cultivating strong relationships with existing customers, driving brand awareness, and identifying new customer prospects. By effectively representing the ATI brand to the travel industry and the public, Regional Sales Managers strive for successful execution of their sales plan and achievement of their passenger objective and revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibility 1: Drive Sales Growth and Revenue
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue, passenger (PAX), and profitability (EBITDA) targets.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territories/accounts.
Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions when goals are not met.
Key Responsibility 2: Relationship Management & Business Development
Build and strengthen relationships with key travel advisor accounts, consortia, and preferred partners.
Conduct regular in-person and virtual meetings to understand partner needs and present tailored solutions.
Negotiate commercial terms to secure favorable agreements and grow market share.
Key Responsibility 3: Advisor Training & Engagement
Deliver engaging training sessions, webinars, and product updates to travel advisors.
Escort familiarization trips (FAMs) to increase advisor product knowledge and confidence in selling safaris.
Ensure effective utilization of marketing collateral and digital tools across assigned accounts.
Key Responsibility 4: Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Maintain accurate CRM records of sales activity, pipeline, and revenue forecasts.
Provide regular sales reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Measure ROI on trade shows, consumer events, and other sales initiatives.
Key Responsibility 5: Client Experience & Satisfaction
Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
Monitor client feedback and satisfaction scores, implementing actions to improve outcomes.
Act as an escalation point for account service issues, resolving problems quickly to maintain trust.
Requirements Role Success Criteria
Passenger Growth: Deliver year-over-year passenger growth in the assigned region, achieving or exceeding annual passenger targets.
Revenue Achievement: Meet or surpass revenue goals through effective sales strategies, partner development, and upsell opportunities.
EBITDA Contribution: Ensure sales activities positively contribute to the company’s profitability by improving margins, monitoring discounting, and driving high-value sales.
Client Satisfaction: Maintain or exceed client satisfaction benchmark by fostering strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and gathering actionable feedback.
Market Share Expansion: Increase share of business within top partner accounts and develop new agency relationships to diversify the client base.
ROI on Sales Activities: Demonstrate measurable return on investment for trade shows, events, and familiarization trips, aligning with annual budget and performance expectations.

Your Experience and Expertise
3+ years of sales and customer service experience preferred.
3+ years of travel industry experience preferred.
3+ years of territory sales experience preferred.
Experience with Salesforce or other CRMs is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Power Point), webinar tools, and internet resources.
Travel & Other Requirements
This is a fully remote position, however you must reside in a major city in the Pacific Northwest area i.e. Seattle, San Francisco, or Portland.
Travel: Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required, and travel extensively throughout the territory. When managing a territory, overnight travel is required for up to 60% of the month to ensure adequate coverage. Some overseas travel is required.
Ability to produce a suitable automobile which will be used for business travel and have all legally mandated licenses.
Home Office: virtual office space with adequate light and limited background noise required to work remotely and conduct online meetings.
Ability to secure a corporate credit card in your name. If denied, must have a personal credit card with at least $5,000 available credit for business expenses.
Ability to speak Spanish is a bonus, but not required.
Salary Description $76,000 – $81,000 per year + sales incentives
