Job Summary:
The Director of Towable RV Sales is a key leadership position responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue and market share for the company's line of towable RV products. This role requires a specialist who understands the unique features, market trends, and customer base for travel trailers, fifth wheels, and other towable units. The director will lead and mentor a sales team, manage key dealer relationships, and collaborate with product development and marketing to ensure the company's towable offerings meet consumer demand .
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans specifically for the towable RV segment to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Analyze market trends, competitor activity (e.g., Keystone, Forest River, Jayco, Grand Design), and consumer data to inform sales strategies.
Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with a network RV dealerships and network contacts.
Act as the primary point of contact for your managers and sales team; addressing any product questions, warranty issues, or sales support needs.
Interview, train, and guide your team of Sales Managers and sales representatives who specialize in towable units.
Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and training on product knowledge, sales techniques, and market trends.
Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration within the sales team.
Maintain an in-depth, expert-level knowledge of all towable products, including their features, floor plans, specifications, and advantages over competitors.
Stay current on advancements in towable technology, such as lightweight construction, solar power integration, and smart home features.
Qualifications and Skills:
To excel as an RV Sales Director, you need a combination of experience, knowledge, and leadership skills. Common qualifications include:
Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, preferably within the RV or automotive industry. A background in team leadership and sales is essential.
A deep understanding of the towable RV market, including specific product types (travel trailers, fifth wheels, etc.), key manufacturers, and the needs of a towable consumer.
While not always required, a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is often preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities. Strong leadership, motivational skills, and the ability to resolve conflict are also critical for success.
Familiarity with RV products, dealership management tools, and CRM software is highly beneficial.
