Position Summary Under the supervision of the Gift Shop Manager and Sales Floor Coordinators. Responsible for retail sales. Provides guest service and product information. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greets guests cordially and professionally, within one (1) minute or less. Promotes sales of inventory, using promotional in-store sales, as well using special orders. Actively participates in monthly sales incentive programs. Works cooperatively with management and co-workers to develop a “Team” relationship to achieve desired business goals. Provides project and artist information and answer questions regarding arts and crafts, apparel, jewelry, pottery, tobacco, etc. Accurately handles all sales transactions through Point-of-Sale systems; cash handling, travelers check verification, credit card processing, Konami, shipping/handling, proper receipt retention, data entry verification, and obtaining ID as required. Directs patrons to proper office as appropriate to seek resolution of problems beyond the information and capabilities available to sales associate. Answer telephones politely, takes and records accurate messages and passes them to the appropriate person. Performs routine daily tasks: Re-stocking and merchandising of inventory Affix price labels as directed by Sales Floor Coordinator or Buyer. Maintain clean and orderly work areas. Maintain and replace/re-stock supplies Maintain clean cases, jewelry, and merchandise Maintain brochure and informative materials Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia. Additional Responsibilities Performs additional duties as requested. Key Performance Indicators This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success. KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Must be friendly, enjoy working with the public and communicate effectively. Ability to effectively communicate information and/or policy and procedures in a manner easily understood by the guest. Ability to handle money and balance a cash register drawer. Ability to learn Point-of-Sales software. Knowledge of retail business concepts. Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds. Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with team members and supervisors. Requirements:
Education and Experience Required: High School Diploma, or GED Certification. Two (2) years retail experience. Note: Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience. License/Certifications/Registrations Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. Kneeling Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Lifting Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles. Pulling Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion. Pushing Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward. Reaching Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Seeing The ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye. Walking Job requirements include, in the performance of duties, walking throughout the work area, on various work surfaces throughout internal or external locations. Sitting Particularly for sustained periods of time. Standing Particularly for sustained periods of time. Stooping Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles. Talking Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. List Working Conditions Required: Work performed indoors. Work is performed on holidays, evenings weekdays and weekends. Work requires normal dexterity while walking, climbing stairs, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, and lifting.
