Inkerman is an elevated menswear brand specializing in footwear and clothing. Using sustainably sourced materials, our products are made to serve our customers in a range of environments. The sales associate candidate is expected to be the helpful and friendly face of the retail store. Candidates are expected to have strong communication skills, be outgoing and have a positive attitude. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers take away a positive impression of the brand. Previous retail experience is preferred, and individuals must have experience in operating a cash register POS system, basic inventory, and restocking tasks, as well as light cleaning duties. A willingness to learn and take direction is also important in this role. There are opportunities to continue working with Inkerman outside the season in our other locations in NYC, and an ideal candidate will be open to working with us long term. Responsibilities Greet guests as they enter the shop, ask whether they would like assistance with anything and provide help if needed in a friendly, hospitable and efficient manner Sharing accurate product knowledge with customers Provide recommendations based on customer's stated preferences, needs and desires Handling customer complaints Maintaining a clean and tidy space. Straighten, arrange, stock and dust off merchandise, maintain shelving areas as directed by management Manage exchanges of merchandise if it should arise Assisting with inventory Skills Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Associate or similar role Excellent communication skills, and capable of building relationships Flexibility to work weekends If you think you are the right fit, please send us your resume.
