Sales Compensation Analyst

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our client’s team located near Deerfield, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the design and maintenance of sales compensation programs. You will ensure the accurate calculation, reporting and analysis of sales commissions, bonuses and incentives, working closely with the sales, finance and HR teams to ensure alignment and optimize sales performance.
Financial Analyst Responsibilities: Calculate monthly, quarterly and year-end commissions and bonuses for sales teams, ensuring timely and accurate payments Support the setup, management and maintenance of sales compensation plans, including commission structures, bonuses and incentives Oversee and ensure the accuracy of sales compensation data, including commissions and quota tracking reports Analyze sales performance data to identify trends and make recommendations on compensation adjustments to drive better sales results Work closely with sales leadership, finance and HR teams to ensure compensation plans are aligned with sales goals and company objectives Investigate and resolve any issues related to sales compensation, including discrepancies in compensation calculations or plan misalignments Identify opportunities to enhance existing compensation processes and recommend best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness Provide ad-hoc analysis and reports as required to support business decisions related to sales compensation and incentives
Financial Analyst Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field 2+ years of experience in sales compensation, finance or a related analytical field Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas); experience with sales compensation software is a plus Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage complex data and ensure accuracy in reporting and calculations Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and explain complex compensation concepts
