Position summary: The Sales Consultant is responsible for promoting the Company’s products and services by building relationships with new and existing customers to become their trusted business partner. This outside sales role uses consultative selling to grow sales of amenities, textiles, room accessories, paper, janitorial supplies, cleaning, FF&E and MRO products to hotels, management groups, and other markets within an assigned territory. The goal is to help customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals. The role offers a base salary with potential quarterly bonuses based on KPI achievement. Primary Responsibilities Maintain and identify new sales opportunities within prospective and existing accounts. Make sales calls and presentations to develop and maintain relationships to increase sales and category penetration. Use consultative selling techniques, product knowledge, ROI, system tools (e.g., Phocas, GForce, Salesforce.com) and sales training resources to target new prospects and growth opportunities. Manage assigned accounts and take corrective action as needed to maintain and improve the customer experience. Consult regularly with assigned accounts about new products and services, company changes, holiday schedules, pricing or information changes, and new opportunities. Notify management if an existing account is in jeopardy of discontinuing service or if issues remain unresolved. Work with Accounts Receivable to ensure invoices are paid within terms. Collaborate with internal departments to provide vital information for servicing customers, including advance notification of changes to merchandising, product movement, new business, or other related information. Assist in setting up new accounts (CAA, pricing, order guides, etc.) and coordinate with other departments to meet or exceed expectations. Accurately forecast sales results and trends for the territory or group of accounts. Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or Business preferred. Minimum Experience 3 - 5 years of sales experience with a proven record of success. Experience in hospitality or supply/distribution sales preferred. Experience in relationship sales managing new and existing customer opportunities and up-selling preferred. Experience with trip planning, territory routing and account prioritization preferred. Skills & Abilities Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly via email and phone and present information effectively. Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple initiatives autonomously. Strong in-person presentation, negotiation and closing skills with customers and prospects. Creative thinking and solution-driven approach; active listening and ability to incorporate feedback. Ability to convey ideas effectively and sell a variety of products; professional demeanor and ability to instill trust. Goal-oriented, self-starter with ability to work in a team environment. Familiarity with general finance concepts; responsiveness to customer needs and feedback. Problem-solving capabilities; sound judgment and timely decision-making. Ability to work under pressure, follow through on commitments, and ensure attendance and reliability. Computer literacy including Microsoft Office 365 and CRM systems; familiarity with analytical software tools. Physical Demands & Work Environment Regularly sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone; occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Frequent travel to appointments, training sessions, staff meetings, events and trade shows. May require use of a personal vehicle for business travel; valid driver's license and current auto insurance required. If remote, must have reliable internet, required software, and a dedicated, distraction-free workspace. Evening and weekend work may be required based on customer needs.
