Position Overview
As a Sales & Design Consultant , you’ll play a hybrid role that bridges creative vision with strategic execution. You’ll guide clients from their initial consultation through to a signed contract — capturing their dream space, proposing tailored design solutions, and aligning those visions with our services and capabilities. This is a client-facing role that requires exceptional interpersonal skills, a keen eye for design, and a proven ability to close.
Key Responsibilities
• Client Engagement & Sales
• Conduct in-home and showroom consultations with potential clients
• Build strong client relationships through active listening and tailored recommendations
• Present design proposals, estimates, and timelines with confidence and clarity
• Follow up on leads, manage pipeline, and close deals in alignment with company goals
• Design & Proposal Development
• Develop creative and functional design solutions based on client needs, budget, and space
• Produce layout concepts, material selections, and mood boards with assistance from the design support team
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure proposed designs are executable
• Stay up-to-date on design trends, materials, and product lines
• Project Coordination Support
• Communicate approved designs clearly to internal teams for seamless handoff
• Ensure alignment between design vision and production execution
• Assist in value engineering when needed without compromising on aesthetic or client goals
• CRM & Reporting
• Track all client interactions and pipeline stages in our CRM.
• Provide regular sales activity updates and performance reports to leadership
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in home remodeling sales, interior design, or related fields
• Strong portfolio of prior design work (if applicable)
• Proven track record of hitting sales targets or managing client relationships successfully
• Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
• Proficient in design software (e.g., SketchUp, Chief Architect, or similar tools)
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-touch environment
• High emotional intelligence and ability to read clients’ spoken and unspoken needs
• Self-starter mindset with strong accountability and attention to detail
Nice to Have
• Experience working with Buildertrend, Zoho, or QuickBooks
• Background in kitchen, bath, or full-home remodels
• Design certification or formal training in interior design or architecture
