Job Summary This is an outside sales role focused on promoting Sysco’s range of products and services while building strong relationships with both new and existing customers. Your main objective will be to support Sysco customers in achieving their success, all while fulfilling the sales and profit targets set by the company. This position may require working flexible hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) to meet customer needs. Responsibilities Generate new business, strengthen existing accounts, and minimize client loss to achieve profitable sales growth and meet specific objectives within your assigned territory.
Identify and qualify potential new clients in line with company account segmentation goals.
Understand customer business needs and create tailored product and service solutions.
Analyze market trends and recommend suitable products based on client needs and goals.
Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitor offerings; share relevant insights with customers as part of our value-added service.
Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and usage.
Provide product information and practical training for customer staff.
Travel to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings using your own vehicle.
Manage accounts receivable as needed, collaborating with the credit department and clients to collect payments based on agreed terms.
Oversee delivery processes according to the routing schedule organized by the transportation department; resolve issues that arise during order fulfillment (e.g., out-of-stock items, special orders, low inventory).
Engage in company functions, customer visits, promotions, and events.
Participate in general sales and district meetings.
Take part in ongoing training sessions.
Assist in training new employees as needed.
Review and analyze reports such as special-order requests, customer bids, and sales/gross profit margins.
Perform administrative duties, including preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits and pick-up requests, creating sales quotes and menu suggestions, and filing necessary documentation.
Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications Education/Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field OR High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of Restaurant Management, B2B, or outside sales experience, or equivalent experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship. Preferred Qualifications Bi-Lingual skills are a plus. Experience in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or as a Chef is preferred. Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (including no multiple DUIs in the past 2 years). Current automobile insurance meeting these liability limits: Bodily injury - $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident; property damage - $100,000. Requirements Undergo pre-employment testing (Drug Screening, Background Check).
Must sign the Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement.
Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical area of the assigned territory.
Professional Skills Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
