An Illinois-based distributor of architectural design materials and laminates for commercial interiors seeks a Sales Manager.
The distributor has been in business for over 50 years and enjoys an excellent reputation for quality materials and service throughout Illinois and parts of the Midwest. This is a great opportunity for a Sales Manager with specific experience in A&D markets focused on commercial interiors.
Are you an experienced sales professional with management acumen who wants to travel less, work smart, and be the sales leader at a small, successful distributor? Do you understand the whole commercial architectural material sales cycle and want the chance to build, manage, and lead a successful sales and customer service team, add relevant products, and improve sales?
This is that opportunity.
The Sales Manager will be a big part of the transition and is expected to take the leading day-to-day role in managing the sales team, adding reps, developing work relationships with key accounts, and ensuring processes are in place to follow up on potential projects and sales. You’ll work with off-site ownership to analyze product line additions, sales processes, and expand sales.
Initially, you’ll visit suppliers and learn distributors’ product lines, make sales calls 1-2 days a week as needed, and train and mentor the sales team.

Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day sales orders, customer contacts and sales leads Work to analyze sales opportunities, add products and increase sales. Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on continuous improvement.
Qualifications
5+ years of sales management experience with interior design materials Strong leadership skills with a track record of success. Ability to develop and execute business strategies that support growth. Experience with CRM, sales, and ordering software Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to work on-site full-time. Bachelor of Arts degree, minimally
