JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing/Regional General Manager and Ownership, you will be responsible for providing sales and administrative support to the Sales team to ensure the smooth operation of the department. This position will oversee some hotels in the San Francisco Market, both franchised and non-franchised properties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate sales calls and client appointments
Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue targets through outside sales calls, on-site visits, sales tours, and networking in the local community
Prepare quotes and contracts for clients
Travel within the local area to develop customer accounts and drive business into the specific hotel/cluster, increasing market and customer share in all revenue streams
Coordinate site inspections as required
Represent the hotel professionally at industry tradeshows, conferences, and adhere to budget and marketing plan guidelines
Maintain hotel and Sales & Marketing databases
Conduct research and competitive analysis to compile reports
Assist with Sales & Marketing projects
Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager
Be flexible to work shifts as business demands require
Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure proper group arrival, stay, and departure
Serve as the point of contact for non-direct calls into the executive office/sales, directing leads to appropriate sales and catering managers
Attend property staff meetings and other meetings as requested by management
Manage and update BEOs
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Must be able to travel
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Essential:
High School diploma or equivalent work experience
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in hospitality
Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Professional communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
Attention to detail in administration and data entry
Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Experience with Lightspeed, Opera, Fosse, Merlin, Delphi, or STS systems is a plus
Exceptional grooming and personal branding
Computer literacy
Initiative, guest service orientation, and decision-making skills
Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
Basic mathematical skills
Calm, courteous, and attentive to guest needs
Ability to work under pressure and coordinate multiple requests
Teamwork and collaboration skills
Flexible schedule
Ability to schedule services for individuals
Self-supervised work capability
Effective communication skills for instructions and assistance requests
