Youth Apprenticeship – Sales Associate or Interior Design
Do you enjoy talking with people, solving problems, and helping customers find the right products? As a Sales Associate or Interior Design Apprentice, you’ll learn the ins and outs of customer service, sales, and project management while working in a retail showroom environment. This is a great opportunity to build communication, teamwork, and business skills you can use in any career!
What You’ll Learn / Skills Gained:
Communication and active listening skills.
Problem-solving and teamwork in a professional environment.
How to organize tasks and manage time effectively.
Basic business math (measuring rooms, calculating square footage).
How to work independently while also being part of a team.
Confidence in presenting and explaining products.
Experience using technology in a workplace setting.
Work will be performed at one of our 13 Wisconsin locations: Eau Claire, Holmen/La Crosse, Wisconsin Rapids, Marshfield, Wausau, Minocqua, Rhinelander, Eagle River, Green Bay, Appleton, Germantown, Racine, or Kenosha
Compensation: $15 hourly
Responsibilities: What You’ll Do:
Learn how to assist customers in choosing products that fit their needs and budget.
Help prepare accurate price and project quotes.
Support customers through the entire sales process, from the first meeting to project completion.
Gain experience with in-person and phone-based customer service.
Help maintain positive relationships with current and new customers.
Learn how to use business software tools (email, scheduling, quoting systems).
Shadow sales professionals to understand sales strategies and customer follow-up.
Report customer questions or concerns to your manager.
Qualifications: Must be enrolled through a Wisconsin school youth apprenticeship program or school-work program.
Work Environment:
Most work will take place inside the showroom on the sales floor.
Occasionally, you may visit customer homes or other store locations with staff.
Physical Expectations:
Comfortable working at a desk and on the sales floor.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely (training provided).
