Overview Steves & Sons, a 158-year-old family-owned door manufacturer, seeks a results-driven Sales-Focused General Manager to drive growth, foster customer relationships, and oversee operations.
Job Summary: We’re looking for a seasoned leader with a strong sales background (80%) and operational expertise (20%) to manage our sales team, develop strategic directions, oversee and enhance production goals, and ensure a seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities Sales (80%)
Lead the sales department to exceed performance goals
Develop and maintain customer relationships to drive growth and satisfaction
Negotiate with suppliers to secure the timely delivery of materials at competitive prices
Collaborate with sales teams to translate customer needs into high-quality products
Foster a customer-centric culture across the organization
Operations (20%)
Oversee plant operations, production, quality, and safety
Implement lean principles and continuous improvement to maximize efficiency
Manage inventory, scheduling, and budgeting
Ensure compliance with quality control standards
Lead cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence
Leadership Qualities Strong leadership and mentorship skills
Proven ability to motivate and direct high-performance teams
Data-driven approach to decision-making
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Qualifications/Requirements 10+ years of combined leadership in sales and manufacturing
Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or related field (preferred)
Lean manufacturing and sales/marketing strategy expertise
ERP & CRM software proficiency
Willingness to travel monthly and attend 2 trade shows/year
