Job Description Visa is seeking a passionate, authentic, dynamic, and results-oriented leader for the role of Senior Director, Sales Data Architect & Governance within the Global Sales and Commercial Operations (GSCO) team. This team manages sales tools and data, and the role involves defining, governing, and optimizing our Sales data ecosystem across Sales, Service, and Marketing segments. The successful candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders and partner with our Technical Data Architect team to design, implement, and enforce data standards aligned with enterprise priorities.
The ideal candidate is a self-directed, highly technical leader experienced with modern data tools and techniques, possessing proven leadership skills and the ability to build networks across Sales, Technology, and broader Visa functions.
This leadership role involves working with key stakeholders across Sales, Technology, and the business to understand data needs, identify improvements, and execute a strategic roadmap to develop a world-class data function.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of a world-class data architecture translating sales vision into a comprehensive end-state, including managing data definitions, cleansing, deduplication, and establishing standards.
Serve as Data Steward for Sales, ensuring data quality, integrity, and governance through policies, metrics, and monitoring.
Collaborate with the Technical Data Architecture team to design data models, integration flows, and pipelines, ensuring single sources of truth across functions.
Evaluate and implement tooling (e.g., data governance platforms) to support data stewardship.
Guide business users on consistent data entry, usage, and definitions to support cross-functional alignment.
Partner with data scientists and stakeholders to gather requirements, design scalable data pipelines, and monitor performance to meet business objectives.
Oversee customer data governance policies to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance.
Identify process improvements and develop SOPs to enhance Customer Data Management efficiency.
This is a hybrid position, with in-office days to be confirmed by the hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
12+ years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree, or 10+ years with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or at least 5 years with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications 15+ years of experience with a Bachelors Degree or 12+ years with an advanced degree, including 9+ years of experience with a PhD.
Data-oriented thinking and a background in STEM fields.
10+ years as a data engineer supporting core datasets and business verticals.
Proven expertise in CRM platforms (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP CRM) and integration technologies.
Experience with multi-stakeholder initiatives aimed at improving customer experience.
Exceptional collaboration skills in a global, matrixed environment.
Proven leadership in building and leading cross-organizational teams.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical information.
A curious mindset and team-oriented approach.
Additional Information Work Hours: Varies based on departmental needs.
Travel Requirements: 5-10% travel expected.
Work Environment: Office setting, requiring sitting, standing, and communication in person or via phone.

Salary Range (U.S. only): $191,700 to $332,950 annually, potentially including bonuses and equity. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, life insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs.
