Senior Sales Engineer Responsibilities
Manage and close complex, long-cycle capital equipment sales
Travel ~50% to client sites across the U.S.
Conduct technical presentations, equipment demos, and solution walkthroughs
Collaborate with engineering teams to design custom equipment solutions
Develop detailed proposals, technical specs, and project documentation
Drive lead generation and new business development
Collect customer insights to guide internal product development
Partner with leadership to improve sales strategy and customer satisfaction
Support onboarding and mentorship of junior sales engineers
Senior Sales Engineer Requirements
5–8 years of experience in capital equipment sales or sales engineering
Proven ability to manage long sales cycles
Experience working closely with technical teams to customize product solutions
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts
Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time
Comfortable working onsite and in the field
Strong self-starter with the confidence to operate independently
Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field is preferred
Prior experience selling metal processing or coil equipment is a major plus
Certifications in sales engineering or relevant tech fields is preferred
