Your Impact
Axon is the developer and manufacturer of conducted electrical weapons, body worn cameras, and digital evidence management solutions. We apply technical solutions to age-old problems in digital video capture and redefine public and private sector technology globally. We are a team of professionals who aim to disrupt the industry and protect life with our products. We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven pre-sales Sales Engineer who thrives on pitching technology to leadership, support staff and end-users, and who will accelerate our sales initiatives in a fast-paced, evangelistic startup environment focused on Law Enforcement and the public safety space.
What You’ll Do
Location: Remote, travel up to 50% of the time. Candidate must be located in the Eastern United States. Reports to: Senior Manager, Sales Engineering.
Achieve mastery of all Axon technologies / products
Lead business and technical presentations with exceptional written and oral communication
Engage with IT leaders (including CIOs), channel partner leadership and technical stakeholders
Set and manage expectations with customers and team members
Provide first-level technical support throughout the pre-sales cycle
Remain organized and remove sales obstacles through creativity and adaptability
Develop relationships with key partners for growth within their customer base
Prepare professional responses to RFPs / RFIs
Position Axon technology against competitors
Represent products, company values, and brand at field events
Own the POC/Pilot process: coordinate logistics, assess objectives, tailor tests, assist with configuration and orientation
Improve or develop technical documentation to aid customer and partner usage
Capture requested features and provide feedback to Product Management and cross-functional teams
Develop Statements of Work (SOW) for Professional Services as needed
Perform other duties and projects as assigned
What You Bring
Willingness to travel up to 50%
Educational background: Associates degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) or 5+ years of relevant experience
3-5 years customer-facing pre-sales or consulting experience
Experience selling SaaS solutions
Experience in End User Compute or Cloud Computing preferred
Experience in networking, storage, virtualization, or related technologies
Intellectual curiosity, humility, accountability and a positive attitude
Basic knowledge of security, IPsec, InfoSec, and related topics
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and storage devices
Ability to work independently with substantial latitude for action while collaborating with teams
Strong presentation skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts
Experience developing SOWs or similar documents
Routing and switching, telecommunications, and Internet technologies knowledge
Basic knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies
Relevant network/telecommunication certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+)

Pay and Benefits Details
The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, with base pay, bonus, and stock awards. Starting base pay ranges from USD 111,000 to USD 177,600, depending on factors such as level, function, training, transferable skills, experience, and geographic market.
