The Impact You'll Make
In this pivotal role, you won't just manage sales; you'll be instrumental in shaping our market presence. You'll lead the charge in driving sales, opening new accounts, and implementing cutting-edge sales processes. Your energy and expertise will directly contribute to how our specialty foods are discovered and enjoyed by consumers nationwide.
What You'll Do
Market Penetration & Growth: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to deeply penetrate nationwide food service establishments (restaurants, hotels, catering businesses) and retail markets (supermarkets, specialty stores). Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, nurturing relationships to secure new accounts and expand our customer base.
Sales Ownership & Forecasting: Take full ownership of achieving monthly and annual sales budgets. Employ a data-driven approach to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and deliver crisp reports on performance metrics.
Strategic Relationship Building: Build and nurture strong, lasting relationships with critical food service and retail clients, serving as a primary point of contact. Provide exceptional customer service and address any issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.
Active Sales Engagement: Conduct regular, impactful sales calls with potential and existing customers. Enthusiastically present our product offerings, discuss promotions, and explore opportunities for deep collaboration. Work the front lines at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings – anywhere our specialty foods can convert fans.
Sales Process: Design and implement a comprehensive sales process, outlining every step from lead generation to closing deals. Utilize our CRM and sales systems to streamline sales data, track customer interactions, and significantly enhance your team's productivity.
Market Insights & Product Advocacy: Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to develop tailored sales strategies. Deepen your knowledge of our specialty food products, effectively communicating their features, benefits, and unique selling points with infectious enthusiasm.
Skills and Attributes You'll Bring
You have a proven track record of 2+ years leading a sales team, preferably within the food service and retail sectors of the food industry.
You're goal-oriented and self-motivated, with an undeniable drive to consistently meet and exceed sales targets.
You understand how to build a strong sales team and manage through data and sales metrics.You have a strong understanding of how to motivate your team for the desired results
You possess strong negotiation and communication skills, with a natural ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships from the store floor to the C-suite.
You have an analytical mindset, adept at interpreting sales data and identifying trends to drive strategic decision-making.
You have experience in creating and implementing robust sales processes and driving results through metrics and motivating your team to meet their goals,
You're road-ready and willing to travel for business meetings, industry events, and trade shows as necessary.
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience and hustle.
Bonus points for obsession with specialty foods, fueled by a data-driven mindset.
