Technical Sales Representative Location: New Castle, PA Must-Have Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Metallurgy or Materials Science strongly preferred)
Strong technical foundation with the ability to explain complex processes in customer-friendly terms
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Valid driver’s license with ability to travel 25–30% (local, national, and international)
3–5 years of sales or marketing experience in the steel or metals industry (preferred)
About the Role: Our client, a fast-growing and innovative metals company, is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join their expanding team. This role blends technical expertise with customer relationship management to drive sales growth, support production planning, and deliver value across multiple business units. You’ll work closely with the Director of Sales and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction from inquiry through delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with customers to understand needs, recommend solutions, and support core business units
Review inquiries, establish pricing, and develop process plans for steel ingot and billet production
Oversee order execution, delivery, WIP, and inventory management while monitoring profitability
Investigate and resolve customer claims in collaboration with Metallurgy
Support sales initiatives across divisions and step in for the Director of Sales when needed
Drive process improvements to strengthen customer service and sales efficiency
