Job Title: Vice President of Sales – Hydraulic Distribution
Location: Minneapolis, MN (On-site with regional travel)
Reports To: CEO / President
Position Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Vice President of Sales to lead and grow our sales organization in the hydraulic distribution sector. This executive role will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, expanding market presence, and managing a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in industrial sales, particularly in hydraulic systems, and a proven track record of driving revenue growth in a B2B environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company goals.
Identify new business opportunities across OEM, MRO, and aftermarket sectors.
Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic direction.
Create and manage annual sales budgets, forecasts, and performance targets.
Build, lead, and mentor a team of outside and inside sales professionals, account managers, and technical sales reps.
Set clear performance goals and provide coaching, training, and performance reviews.
Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability and results.
Cultivate strong relationships with key accounts, prospects, and vendor partners.
Collaborate with marketing on lead generation, brand awareness, and campaigns.
Support major contract negotiations, bids, and proposals to close strategic deals.
Work closely with operations, product, and executive teams to ensure customer satisfaction and alignment.
Regularly report sales performance, pipeline activity, and strategic insights to executive leadership.
Implement CRM best practices and ensure accurate pipeline and opportunity tracking.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field; MBA preferred.
8–12 years of experience in B2B sales, with at least 5 years in sales leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic components, fluid power systems, or industrial equipment.
Demonstrated success in building and scaling sales teams and achieving revenue targets.
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales analytics tools.
Willingness to travel regionally (~25–40%) as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Existing relationships in the hydraulic or fluid power distribution space.
Experience selling into manufacturing, construction, or agricultural industries.
Familiarity with technical sales processes and solution-based selling methodologies.
