About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Utility Sales for the Northeast US region. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of Sales Managers, driving revenue growth, and nurturing strong relationships with key utility clients. This role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in sales, particularly within the utility sector or related industries. The VP will be expected to provide insights and leadership in account strategies, understand market trends, and make strategic decisions to ensure client retention and engagement in high-level negotiations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and a deep understanding of the customer's business strategy and market activity are also key aspects of the position.
Candidates for this role should have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 15 years of account management or sales experience, with a focus on the utility sector. A background in engineering, project management, sales, or marketing is essential. The ideal candidate will be an out-of-the-box thinker, highly focused on delivering results, and possess strong analytical and communication skills. The role demands a leader with the ability to anticipate market changes, forecast customer requirements, and work with the team to overcome sales obstacles. A strong business acumen, the ability to make decisive decisions, and a willingness to travel are also required. Experience with large investor-owned utility clients and recent exposure to the sales and marketing of power transmission and distribution products is a plus.
