About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Sales to spearhead the go-to-market strategy for its innovative group health insurance model. This role is pivotal in the company's mission to provide a cost-effective and powerful alternative to traditional PEOs and fully insured plans. The successful candidate will be the first senior commercial hire and will have the unique opportunity to shape the sales strategy from the ground up. Key responsibilities include leading the sales function, defining and implementing scalable sales processes, educating target markets, and driving new business through various channels. The VP of Sales will also be expected to convert early interest into revenue, build a high-performing sales organization, and collaborate with the executive team on strategic planning.
Applicants for the VP of Sales position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' B2B sales experience, with a strong preference for those with a background in insurance, healthcare benefits, or employer-facing services. The role requires a proven track record in building and leading sales teams, particularly in startup or high-growth environments, and a deep understanding of the SMB and mid-market employer segments. The ideal candidate will be process-driven, with expertise in sales operations, and have a successful history in relationship-driven sales cycles. A hands-on, entrepreneurial approach, strong strategic thinking, and a willingness to execute in the field are essential. Experience in selling group captives, self-funded insurance models, or benefit consulting services is a plus.
