2026 Summer Intern, Sales Associate

We partner with state and local governments to help communities rebuild stronger, safer, and more resilient after natural disasters.
We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Intern to support our Business Development and Capture team. This role offers hands-on experience in government consulting, proposal development, and sales strategy within the disaster recovery and resilience sector. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn how large-scale federal and state-funded programs are pursued and won.
This is an entry-level, 10-week, full-time internship expected to begin in June and end in August. The internship can be fully-remote from any U.S. Pay is expected to be $23 per hour. At this time, we are unable to provide housing nor relocation assistance for this position.
Responsibilities:
Meeting Support: Take detailed notes during internal and client-facing meetings; distribute accurate and timely summaries/action items to relevant stakeholders.
Sales Materials: Assist in drafting and designing pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, and other client-facing materials tailored to disaster recovery and resilience services.
Content Creation: Develop and update marketing and sales content, including website and social media posts, success stories, and capability statements.
Research & Analysis:
Conduct research on potential government and private sector targets, funding opportunities, and procurement forecasts.
Monitor competitors’ activities, market positioning, and program performance.
Pipeline Support: Help maintain CRM entries, track leads, and update pursuit status reports.
Collaboration: Work closely with business development leads, proposal managers, and technical experts to align messaging and strategy.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of various documents and materials for presentations

Basic Qualifications:
By start date, a minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours in public policy, writing, government, business or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Interest in government contracting, consulting, disaster recovery, or resilience preferred.
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Strong time management skills
Ability to learn new things quickly
Experience conducting research, organizing, and analyzing information
Proficient in MS Office Suite, with advanced skill in SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint
