Capital Electric has an opening for a dynamic sales leader in the Richmond, Virginia market. The Area Manager role will guide the sales team’s overall direction and focus, helping the team succeed in the market while ensuring customer needs are met. This role is responsible for selecting, coaching, motivating, and supporting the sales team. This role will also focus on leading and managing key objectives—such as sales targets, forecasts, and plans that align with the company’s goals and priorities.
Responsibilities:
Manage the productivity of the sales force
Set expectations, monitor, and evaluate sales performance
Motivate and mentor sales associates and develop sales team
Full territory P&L responsibility
Develop customer relationships, regular end user joint calls
Regular branch visitation - 6 branches
Manage district sales expense budgets
Oversee pricing strategy for customers
Assist Branch Managers with sales and operational activities in assigned area branches; this includes executing sales strategy and management, achieving financial performance, developing employees in order to achieve stated company goals and other duties
Managing and growing relationships with our vendor partners, which includes developing strategic action plans to align with local market needs and company objectives.
Requirements:
5+ years electrical distribution industry with experience leading multimillion dollars in sales
7+ years of Outside Sales experience with experience selling to industrial and contractor customers preferred
Must have strong leadership skill with ability to drive sales success
Experience managing a P&L is desired
Experience managing multiple branch locations is desired
Computer literate and Microsoft Office experience
Experience using Eclipse is a plus
